Veterinary Care, PnG Pet Health and Nutrition Center, Ohio, Lewisburg
The main responsibility of this job is to provide veterinary care for a large population of dogs and cats homed at the P&G Pet Health & Nutrition Center. The PH&C is a USDA registered research program and the veterinarian will serve on the Animal Care Committee (IACUC) and provide technical expertise for the safe design and implementation of nutritional studies.

Job Responsibilities include:    
    * Experience or ability to develop a strong understanding of companion animal nutritional science needed to participate effectively on study design teams.
    * Experience or ability to develop understanding of the veterinarian's role in managing an animal population in a USDA registered program.
    * Demonstrates an ability to work effectively in a nutritional science  team to explore new capabilities and technologies to enhance the well-being of dogs and cats,  The individual  must have exceptional communication, collaboration and planning skills necessary to oversee the veterinary care program in Pet Care.

This person will work with other clinicians to ensure superior animal health care practices are maintained.
 
The work at P&G Pet Care is always focused around animal well-being and the veterinary staff participate in program activities including new animal introductions, animal training, quality of life and eventual animal adoption.  The veterinarians have broader roles beyond clinical/diagnostic responsibilities.

Qualifications

Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in either Small Animal Medicine or Companion Animal Medicine is required.  Previous experience in veterinary practice or research program using dogs and/or cats is strongly desired.  Prefer at least four years of practical veterinary care experience.
