JOB DESCRIPTION: Qualified candidates will demonstrate an ability to provide marine mammal training and husbandry in an open-water or research related environment. Must be able-bodied individuals capable of working in adverse environmental conditions and maintain a flexible work schedule this includes night shifts.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS: High school diploma (or equivalent) and one year animal training experience or two years college credit and three months marine mammal training experience. Basic knowledge of operant conditioning methodology and basic Scuba Diving skills are mandatory. Experience with the oceanarium or veterinary arena is considered to be a plus. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. DESIRED SKILLS: Advanced Scuba diving and seamanship skills are strongly desired. We are seeking a responsible, reliable, organized individual who is able to multitask in a fast paced environment. Veterinary assistants/technicians are responsible for all aspects of animal care. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: restraining animals, assisting doctors with exams and surgeries, running lab work, cleaning cages, feeding and watering animals, administering medication to animals, customer service, and client education.
