VETERINARY ASSOCIATE CLINICAL SPECIALIST 1, 2, OR 3 (Radiology) Veterinary Teaching Hospital and Clinics Required Qualifications: (All Levels) A combination of an RVT diploma or certificate of formal training (two years) plus two years technician experience totaling four years OR a Bachelor's degree; experience with horses; (Level 2) an additional year of veterinary experience; (Level 3) two additional years of veterinary experience. Veterinary Technicians are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities: conducts diagnostic and therapeutic radiologic procedures in the instructional and research programs; handles radiographic service when students are not present; supports the emergency duty radiologist through provision of radiographic services when requested; instructs veterinary students assigned to VMED in the physical principals of radiology, radiographic techniques, patient restraint and positioning; other related duties as assigned by supervisor; performs large animal imaging which will include nuclear medicine bone scans, large animal radiography ultrasonography, MRI and CT, and small animal nuclear medicine scans; leads and handles horses, picking up feet, IV injections, physical restrain (twitching); communicates and works with the equine clinician in charge of the patient, as the care of the patient will be the responsibility of the equine clinician in the large animal hospital. Training relating to specific diagnostic modalities, protocols and safety will be given. This individual will be expected to work independently with assistance from other technical staff and or veterinary students. This individual will be expected to be able to work with others in a team approach and assist others when needed.
