We are a private practice dermatology clinic looking for a highly motivated individual to join our group. This is a full time position (35-40 hrs/week). We are open Mon-Thurs.....yes that means 3-day weekends! No evening or weekend hours! We are a small tightly knit group that likes to have fun! We are not only looking for a new employee, but a new member to join our wonderful team. The right individual will have 1-2yrs experience (licensure a plus, new grads welcome.) A strong desire to learn is the most important quality. Duties include assisting the Dr. in clinics, client communication/education, surgical preparation/assisting, technician appointments, intradermal skin testing, venipuncture, etc. Compensation is beyond competitive with a full benefit pkg. available (health insurance, retirement plan, pd. vacation and holidays, uniform allowance, pet care, CE allowance, etc.) Apply |

Assists Veterinarians in providing medical and technical support in the health care of animals at the city’s animal shelters. Essential Functions: 1. Prepares for and assists veterinarians with routine and emergency medical procedures to ensure activities are conducted in an efficient manner.
2. Collects and prepares biological samples to examine samples under microscope, conducts lab tests, and reports results to veterinarians.
3. Monitors animals' general health while in facilities and vital signs during procedures and while recuperating.
4. Assists veterinarians with and administers prescribed medications to animals in order to provide support and nursing care.
5. Prepares, sterilizes, and monitors surgical instrument packs and supplies for surgical procedures and treatment.
6. Assists in maintaining the inventory of pharmaceuticals, equipment, and supplies and restocks medical kits to ensure supplies are readily available.
7. Evaluates the general condition and disposition of animals to determine which animals have the best chance for adoption.
8. Maintain accurate records on all animals. |

The person in this position will conduct immunology research. Flow cytometry and cell assay techniques will be used to evaluate neutrophil function.
The vet jobs position will conduct research on innate immunity, stress, and immunomodulation in fish, birds and mammals. This person will study effects of different environmental factors, disease challenges, and dietary immunomodulators in vivo and in vitro on neutrophil function and disease resistance. Functional assays will be used to evaluate the neutrophil responses to different acute and chronic stress conditions. |
